Evolution of a Rock & Roll College Dean
College dean Colette Shaw decided the time had come to make peace with the glaring duality in her life. Her squeaky-clean girl-next-door image and her conservative professional life had long conflicted with her secret trips to biker bars and attendance at heavy metal conventions.

Taking inspiration from the music of her favorite band, KISS, Shaw wrote her first novel, Won't Get Fooled Again, which was released in the summer of 2005.

"It's the story of a woman forced to confront the conflict between the things she loves most," explains Shaw. "I think readers will relate to the tension. We all have different passions, and they don't always make sense to the people around us. It's part of being human. I was lucky enough to explore the duality through my writing."

The original "KISSfiction" website was designed to follow Shaw's progress as she strove to fulfill her rock 'n' roll literary fantasy. Since embarking on her journey, Shaw met KISS, appeared in a documentary film about her project, and started her own business in higher education consulting.

"I'm not sure I would have seen this project all the way through had I not felt the support of so many people from so many different backgrounds," admits the now former Dean Shaw. "But the truth is, we all have a story to tell." ...continue to Author Bio & Credits
