Cast of Characters

For those of you who are new to the site or just want a refresher, here are some of the names I throw around. Click on the name, and it will take you to the place in the story where the character was introduced.

**Warning: I sometimes consider the characters in my book real people.


Agent Andrew: Old friend with rock 'n' roll connections. Current albeit reluctant literary agent in name only for Won't Get Fooled Again.

Aunt Paula: Creator and performer of the Tootsie Chase detective series. Introduced Colette to her first writers conference once upon a time and has freelanced as a KISSfiction CD reviewer.

BF a.k.a. XBF a.k.a. QBF: That stands for various incarnations of former boyfriend. See "Curtis"

book II: Colette's second novel, still in its infancy. Working title = Do Ya Love Me?

book III: A future novel Colette refers to when she mentions the XBF period (see "Curtis"). Working title = Buy the Rights.

Colette: Author, dean, vagabond, webmistress. Narcissist.

Colleague Melissa: Member of the Volunteer Reader Army. Vocal supporter of KISSfiction.

Cookie: Always at the right place at the right time, and usually with a camera in her hand. One of her pix from a tribute band gig we attended became the main photo on the band's website. She's gooooood.

Conductor Jack: In Colette's climb toward musical mediocrity, this maestro provided encouragement with a wink.

Curtis: In chapters April-June, he was KISSfiction's biggest cheerleader. In chapter July, Colette fell for him. In August, he turned into the BF (see above). In September, the couple took a brief hiatus during which Curtis became the XBF. The coming months saw the Quasi-Boyfriend incarnation, and ultimately, the X inevitability fulfilled.

day job: Mild-mannered Colette is a higher education administrator known to a few as "Dean Shaw."

Docu-man/Rocku-man: Talented filmmaker, Randy Wilkins. Director of documentary (rockumenary) "Living the Fantasy" about the KISSfiction project.

Heidi-va: Friend, confidante and perhaps Colette's future publicist.

International Jill: Huge KISS fan from Germany who is also close friends with Sister/Editor. Not afraid to communicate her opinions through the guestbook.

Jackson Hellam: Rocker and all-around major hottie. One of the male leads of Won't Get Fooled Again.

Jared & Matt: Behind the KISSfiction scenes, a battle rages between these two fans. Despite KISSfiction's mission of love, these warriors compete for mentions in the Diary. Pray for them. (See Matt & Jared)

K&C Consulting: A team of fans who like to submit book ideas to me.

Living the Fantasy: A 30 minute documentary about Colette Shaw's battle between her scholarly reputation and her rock & roll alter-ego.

Matt & Jared: (Just to be fair.)

Secret Reader: A friend and trusted critic solicited to give highly classified feedback on Won't Get Fooled Again. A diva of the literary world.

Sister/Editor a.k.a. Heather: Biological sister of Colette and first human being to lay eyes upon completed book. She's the greatest.

Suzanne Curtis: Female lead of Won't Get Fooled Again and suspected of being the alter-ego of Colette.

Volunteer Reader Army: Generous team of supporters who offered to read and critique Won't Get Fooled Again at a critical time in its evolution.

Won't Get Fooled Again: The reason this whole website exists. It's probably the best freakin' trashy rock 'n' roll romance novel ever written. Currently being prepped for release in 2005.
