Diary of a Girl-Next Door Heavy Metal Novelist

I am becoming a bonafide copyright expert I can't wait to download the permission forms and start using fancy terms like Right of Publicity. Let it be known that KISSfiction will be mine for fifty years after I die. Oh yeah.

My sister/editor called last night to see if I thought it a good idea to let Mom's sister (and surrogate maternal figure since Mom died) know that Dad just wed. When did my life become like this? Again, good material for sequels.

I asked my boss for a big fat raise this week. I think my goal of paying off my mortgage with KISSfiction $$ might be dangerously close to a delusion of grandeur...

Nah.

Jackpot!!! I started my search last night using the copyright resources I checked out of the library. My heart was beating really fast when I typed "See You Tonight" into the search engine. I should have known it would be KISSmit because the acronym for the site was A.C.E. I let out a howl of joy when Gene Simmons's name and licensing information popped onto the screen. Now that I have the inside scoop, I need a real agent to get me a book deal.

I called Heather last night to get clarification on my final edits but had to leave a message. Not my style, but I actually left her a second message later in the evening. I'm stalking my own sister! I also talked to Aunt Paula, my partner in writing. We're finalizing plans for the writers conference in two weeks. I hope the other authors in attendance know what they're in for.

This morning was the final airing of Mergl in the Morning, a student radio show that has become the #1 morning program in Lancaster County. Several of us regular listeners went to say goodbye in person, and Mergl was kind enough to play "Shout It Out Loud" for me. This was a great KISSfiction day.

The bad news is that the Philadelphia 76ers were elimitated in the first round of the NBA playoffs. Sixers games were practically the only television I watched as I wrote my book over the past five or six months. I suppose I'll have more time for writing business now, but I'm still disappointed.

My friend Curtis called this morning. He was a huge cheerleader as I wrote this winter - so much so that the lead character in
Won't Get Fooled Again is named Suzanne Curtis.

Must call my sister/editor today to get those final edits. She leaves for Barcelona on Monday, and if we don't connect, she'll take with her all the KISSfiction error secrets.
